Our theme for 2014 is Check Your Baggage Here—“Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us…” (Hebrews 12:1)

Date: February 7-8, 2014

2014 Guest speakers: Mardi Collier, Sharon Rabon, Melinda Cazis, and Allison Kistler (for teen girls).

Please refer questions to: cls.ebc@gmail.com

Last year over 500 ladies met from all over New England to fellowship and grow in God’s Word together. Each main session and specialty workshop will bless and edify the ladies of your church. Teens also enjoy workshops just for them! (The Christian Ladies’ Seminar is open to all ladies starting at age thirteen.)

Mardi Collier is a wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoys serving alongside her husband, Ken Collier, the president and director of The Wilds Christian Camp and Conference Center in Brevard, NC. She supervises the camp Craft Shop, is involved with the ladies’ ministries in her local church, and enjoys the privilege of speaking to women about topics that concern them. Mardi’s desire is to share the truths of the Bible in an honest, practical way and to help, encourage, and challenge ladies to grow in their relationship with God. She and Ken have three married sons, one married daughter, and fourteen grandchildren.

Sharon grew up in a Christian home in Midland City, Alabama. She trusted Christ as her Savior when she was a child and gave her life to serve the Lord in lifetime ministry as a teenager.  Sharon was married to Tim Rabon in July, 1979.  In 1981 they were asked to join the staff of Beacon Baptist Church in Raleigh, NC.   In 1997, her husband became the pastor of that same church.  Sharon is director of ladies’ ministries, serves as her husband’s secretary and speaks at ladies’ conferences.  She is the mother of two sons and 1 daughter, all of which are married and serve in lifetime ministry.    She and her husband have 2 grandchildren and another on the way.

Melinda Cazis accepted Christ as her personal Saviour at the age of 4 and was called to full-time Christian service at the age of 12. She graduated from Bible college with a B.S. in Secondary Education and has been married to Pastor Ray Cazis for 25 years. God has given her two sons, Christopher & Ray. Melinda serves at International Baptist Church in Brooklyn, NY & Stony Brook, NY where her husband is Senior Pastor at both campuses. She speaks often at ladies meetings and loves to encourage ladies to find relaxation, peace, & joy in their service for God.

Allison Kistler, speaking to teen girls, has been in full-time ministry for the past 9 years. One of her greatest pleasures is serving beside her high school sweetheart, Hank, at International Baptist Church. Her two greatest blessings are her beautiful girls, Emma and Kayla. She is a coffee-drinker, bargain shopper,  ocean lover, avid reader, and lover of Jesus.

The History of This Seminar

In the late 1970s, a group of five ladies had a vision to hold a seminar that would edify the ladies of Emmanuel Baptist Church and their guests. The first annual Christian Ladies’ Seminar of Emmanuel Baptist Church was held in 1981 with 300 ladies in attendance. Since that time, several thousand ladies from eleven states have been blessed and edified by godly women and biblical teaching at this annual event.
