Happy Monday! I hope you’ve had an awesome day.
Would you please read this email carefully? It will help us work together to enjoy an unforgettable Centennial Celebration. Here are some ways we can make this weekend wonderful:
First, Pray in Faith—Would you pray this week for this historical day? Pray that our guests will understand the gospel. Pray that all the details will come together. Pray for good weather. Pray that God will provide for your offering. Pray for our staff and leaders. Pray that Jesus will be magnified in it all!
Second, Prepare in Service—There are several ways you can help to prepare. Would you be willing to volunteer an hour or two? Any amount of time would be a big help to our efforts. Here’s a few ways you could help:
—Join us Wednesday for an important prayer time
—Stick around Wednesday after church to help with set up or clean up
—Help with cleaning or maintenance Thursday thru Saturday (call the office)
—Join us for 9:30am Saturday for an important time of Men’s Prayer
—Come help clean Saturday anytime between 10am and 2pm
Third, Participate with Thoughtfulness—Reach out to friends and neighbors and invite them to this special day. Come early. Park on the west side of the building to help our guests. Enjoy the coffee. Get a good seat up close. —filling the front pews first. (Again, leaving room for our late comers to use seats further back.) And expect a wonderful, memorable day of worship.
Finally, Celebrate with Delight—As we come together Sunday, we mark 100 years of gospel ministry. Together, we make a statement of our love for Jesus and the gospel. As we express our gratitude to God, our offering will both please the Lord and bless His work for future generations. Personally, I am so excited to be a part of it all!
Banquet tickets are available, and it would help us greatly if you would call the church office to purchase or reserve them early this week. If you are planning to attend the banquet, we need to know as soon as possible. (All details will be posted on the website, and you can call the church office is you have questions, 860-666-1055.)
Early this morning, I spent time in prayer and reflection on this week. I wrote a blog post entitled “How My Heart Responds to EBC’s 100th Anniversary.” You can click the link to read it, and I hope it will encourage your heart.
Have a great week! See you Wednesday. Together, let’s ask God for an exceptional celebration!
I love you and am praying for you!
