FOUNDATIONS

Christians in the New Testament enjoyed community

They cared for each other, encouraged each other, prayed together, supported one another, and served Jesus and His church together. They did the Christian life together—growing in God’s word, building healthy relationships, and loving one another.

F1: Discovery

Discover the Gospel. Discover Emmanuel.

“Discovery” is the starting point for anyone seeking to understand the gospel and what it means to place your faith in God. In this class, you’ll embark on a journey of exploring the core message of Christianity, from the reality of God’s love and grace to the invitation to enter into a personal relationship with Him. At the heart of this class is the discovery of the gospel—the good news that Jesus came to earth to save us, offering forgiveness, hope, and a new life through His death and resurrection.

This class is designed for anyone who is new to faith or just curious about Christianity. It provides a welcoming environment to ask questions, explore the basics, and begin to understand what it means to be a part of the church family. Whether you’re just beginning your faith journey or revisiting the fundamentals of Christianity, “Discovery” will help you understand the essential truths of the gospel and how they can transform your life.

The class is designed to help you find the answers to the most important questions in life and give you the tools to begin living out this newfound understanding. As you discover the gospel and Emmanuel, you will begin to see life in a new light and be invited into a new story.

F2: Journey

Enjoy a Personal Relationship with God.

“Journey” is all about embarking on a personal adventure with God, where the destination is a deeper, more intimate relationship with Him. In this class, we’ll explore what it means to walk with God daily, to hear His voice, and to experience His presence in a way that transforms us. Just like any significant relationship, our relationship with God is a process that grows and deepens over time. This class will help you understand how to engage with God personally, through prayer, Scripture, worship, and everyday moments. You’ll also learn how God desires not only for you to know Him but to be known by Him, which fosters a deep, life-changing intimacy.

The term “Journey” communicates the reality that a relationship with God is ongoing, dynamic, and ever-developing. It’s not about reaching a fixed destination but about growing through experiences and progressing along the way. Just like any deep relationship, there are highs, lows, learning curves, and moments of joy, and each part of the journey is valuable. In this class, we’re inviting you to take the first steps (or perhaps the next step) in walking with God in a more personal, authentic way. Every day is an opportunity to draw nearer, to trust more deeply, and to experience the love and grace of God in real, tangible ways.

F3: Identity

Embrace a Gospel Identity.

“Identity” is all about discovering who you truly are in Christ and understanding how your spiritual identity shapes the way you live, think, and relate to others. In this class, we’ll contrast a traditional identity with a modern identity, and examine the strengths and weaknesses of both models. Ultimately, we’ll see how a Gospel-shaped identity really makes a believer unshakeable when life gets hard. When we know who we are in God’s eyes, we gain a deep sense of security, purpose, and confidence. This class will help you embrace your true self—the person God has always intended for you to be—and live from that place of spiritual wholeness.

F4: Story

Grasp God’s Redemptive Narrative from Genesis to Revelation.

“Story” is about understanding the big picture of the Bible—the grand narrative that unfolds throughout Scripture, from Genesis to Revelation. In this class, we’ll explore how the Bible is not just a collection of 66 separate narratives or isolated stories; rather, it is a single, unified story that reveals God’s redemptive plan for the world. From the beginning in Genesis, through the prophets and the gospels, to the end in Revelation, everything in Scripture points to God’s desire to restore and redeem humanity through His Son.

This class is designed to help you see how all of Scripture fits together, how each part of the Bible contributes to the larger narrative, and how it speaks to God’s eternal purposes. As we walk through the grand story of Scripture, we’ll discover how we are invited to play a part in God’s unfolding plan, and how understanding this big story shapes the way we live our own smaller stories in light of God’s mission. Whether you’re new to the Bible or have been reading it for years, “Story” will help you connect the dots and see God’s redemptive work in a whole new light, understanding how everything from creation to new creation points toward Christ’s ultimate victory.
